I’m a native Atlantan who is married to a woman from New Jersey (long story there). I am a big UGA fan as well as the Atlanta Braves and Hawks. I enjoy being outdoors (boating and golf). I also love to travel.

About Andy Siegel

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I’ve been married for 20 years this fall with 4 grown kids who are all in their mid to late 20s. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful children.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

I love helping others who really need advice and direction with their insurance coverage needs. I’m most satisfied when the products I’ve sold them come through during a claim.

How long have you worked in the insurance industry

38 years full time as of August 2023.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met working in insurance?

Jay Fishman, President of Travelers. Met him at a TLC meeting when we were the 2014 Personal Lines Agent of the Year for the southeast region.

Q: How has your engagement with the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia (IIAG) impacted your career?

It’s been the best thing I’ve done (next to marrying my wife). I’ve become connected to so many people that are having the same industry and agency issues and it’s a tremendous forum to get together and share our issues, concerns, and successes.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

Would love to explore Greece as I hear it’s beautiful. Some friends went there recently and the pictures they shared were stunning.

Q: What advice would you give to people to succeed in our industry?

Be patient and always do the right thing for people, even if it means you don’t get an account or lose one. NEVER burn a bridge.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

African Safari

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?

Bon Jovi & Styx

Q: Name one or two people that made the most impact on your success in insurance? What qualities made them stand out to you?

My father, Jerry Siegel. I was blessed to work with him every day for 27 years and saw how successful he was at the relationship side of this business. We are in the relationship business and our product is insurance.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? Where in Georgia would you ask them to meet?

Ronald Reagan. He was able to bring people together and was a great communicator. Of course we’d go to the Varsity.

For Fun

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about the insurance industry?

I love that every day is a new day and no two days are the same. I always look forward to the challenges of what a new day might bring. Every situation gives you an opportunity to help someone and shine.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

Enjoying grandchildren and traveling as much as possible with my wife.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

I’m an open book so nothing too surprising. I am very analytical, reserved, and try to look at all sides of an issue before making a decision.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?

Grand Tetons

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?

September (beginning of fall, UGA football and Braves playoffs). Holiday would be Thanksgiving as we get to share our appreciation for our lives. Best day on the calendar is Father’s Day, it’s the one day about me and my kids.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

My life! I’m truly blessed with good health, a loving wife, and the best children.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

My wife!

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the IIAG community?

Family, friends, success
